SUNDAY SCHOOL
meets Sunday mornings
at 10:20 AM
beginning
the third Sunday of
September through the
third Sunday in May.
Besides an excellent education in Bible stories and their relevance to
today, Sunday School children are active in mission projects like the
annual Christmas gift tree for those with less, tying lap blankets for
our shut-ins, making decorative place mats for Lazarus House
(transitional living center in St. Charles), adding a festive flavor to our
Palm Sunday worship, or collecting monies for "Wells, Chickens and
Cows" in third world countries. Sunday School sponsors an annual
Bible Olympic contest testing their gained Bible knowledge. Sunday
School also hosts two congregational potlucks during the year. Ages
3 through 12th grade are involved in Sunday School.
ADULT BIBLE CLASS meets in the
Meeting Room on Sunday
mornings during the Sunday School hour. There is a Wednesday
Morning Bible study group at 9:30 AM meeting September through
May. Men's Bible Breakfast meets in Hampshire's Rose
Garden
Restaurant the first Saturday of each month from September through
May. See the calendar page for the
schedule of home Bible studies
meeting in small groups in the comfort of members' homes.
MEMBERSHIP CLASSES are also called
Confirmation Class. You
don't have to be interested in joining the church to join these sessions.
Membership classes review the basics of the Christian faith taught in
Scripture and summarized by the Ten Commandments, the Apostles'
Creed, the Lords Prayer, Baptism and Holy Communion. Along the
way we hear God's answers to such questions as "What is the purpose
of my life? Where am I going? Am I loved? What happens
after
death? Will I have eternal life?" Adult membership classes
are about
15 weeks in length. They are taught by our pastor and are organized
whenever there is interest. Youth Confirmation Classes are given
over a two year period from September through April for youth in
Grades 7 and 8. These classes are held on Wednesday evenings at
6:00 PM.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is a big event at
St. Peter's. V.B.S.
usually happens during the last full week of June. Enthusiastic
sessions are held in the mornings. It's a fun way for children to
make
new friends as they learn about their Friend and Savior, Jesus.
See our link to
LITTLE SAINTS PRESCHOOL now in it's
fourteenth season.
PRAYER WARRIORS - no, this is not a
Bible Class, but our
membership is committed to taking your petitions to the Lord in
prayer. Call our church office with your prayer requests or e-mail
prayer.requests@stpetersnorthplato.org
